Silverado Vs F-150

 CARGO CAPACITY

Silverado: Fully boxed frame rails made of high-strength steel and nine cross members for lateral support help Silverado 2500 heavy duty truck achieve a maximum payload rating of 3,534 lbs.†. You need to use the right material for the job. Silverado HD work truck features a roll-formed steel cargo box that's lighter, stronger and more durable than traditional stamped-steel boxes, so you can secure loads with confidence. The Silverado also has a maximum towing capacity of 12,500 pounds.

F-150: A pickup bed that can be equipped to make work easier and maximize productivity. Available features include • Flexible, configurable Box Link™ system • LED box lights • Stowable loading ramps • Classexclusive* integrated tailgate step with lift assist • Class-exclusive* remote tailgate release (lock or unlock and lower the tailgate) • Class-exclusive* deployable box side steps available on all cab configurations, including the SuperCrew® with 5.5-ft. pickup box • Heavy-Duty Payload Package. The F-150 isn't far behind the Silverado with a towing capacity of 12,200.

 DRIVEABILITY

Silverado: The standard VortecTM 6.0L V8 builds power at low rpm for a flatter torque curve. It reaches peak horsepower (360 hp) at only 5400 rpm and peak torque (380 lb.-ft.) at 4200 rpm. Available Digital Steering Assistpower steering helps make hauling and trailering easier with electronic controls that enhance road holding and stability on the highway.

F-150: Reducing weight is an effective way to increase payload. And that's what resulted from cutting the weight of the F-150 body with high-strength, military-grade, aluminum alloy. Greater strength with less weight helps achieve a best-in-class* payload rating in F-150 models powered by the legendary Ford 5.0L V8. The 5.0L now features a direct-injection system designed to extract as much power as possible from every drop of fuel, and generates power ratings of 395 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque.

LIKEABILITY

Silverado: the 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 was named the "Highest-ranked large Light Duty Pickup in Initial Quality, Two Years in a Row," by J.D. Power*. It is also the first full-size pickup to offer 46 LTE Wi-Fi (with compatible devices, or OnStar, and the right data plans, available in select markets). *The Chevrolet Silverado LD received the lowest number of problems per 100 vehicles among large light duty pickups in the J.D. Power 2015-2016 study based on 80,157 total responses, evaluating 245 opinions of new 2016 vehicle owners after 90 days of ownership, surveyed in February-May 2016.

F-150: Test drivers had a lot of praise for the F-150's handling, which benefits from Ford's lightweight aluminum body, resulting in a nimble truck that drives more like a crossover SUV, test drivers say.
